The most important part of any long road trip? The playlist, of course. And when your trip is three days long, it's even more important, as NASA will tell you.
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, NASA is asking what song you would put on your spaceflight playlist. NASA is planning on sending astronauts back to our natural satellite in 2024, and it's never too early to get suggestions. With a six-day round-trip to the moon, they'll need a lot of songs.
You can offer your moon-themed favorites before June 28 by posting on Twitter with the hashtag #NASAMoonTunes or filling out this form. The final playlist will premiere on NASA's Third Rock Radio on July 13-14 — only a few days before the official anniversary of Apollo 11.
If you're having trouble thinking of a suggestion worthy of the final frontier, we went ahead and came up with a few. Check out our own Moon Tunes playlist.
