Veronica Lopez

Veronica Lopez passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in Omaha. Veronica was a wonderful daughter, aunt, friend, and an even better sister. She was born on December 5, 1985, in Jesus Maria, Jalisco, Mexico and spent her early childhood riding with her dad and big brother on a Suzuki motorcycle. Around the age of five, she moved to Temecula, CA where she helped care for her little sister and helped her parents at work. She moved to St. Joseph, MO for a short while, then San Antonio, TX where she played soccer with the Tapatias Soccer Club and earned a high school diploma from Oliver Wendell Holmes High School. In 2005, Veronica moved with her family to Nebraska City, which was where she called home. Veronica made many friends while working at the family restaurant. Her laughter was contagious, her attention to detail was extraordinary, and she had a remarkable sense of humor. She was always up for an adventure, no matter the hour. In recent years she was able to travel to many places to make memories with her family and her friends, including her hometown in Mexico, Las Vegas, Wind River Range and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Colorado, Disney World, and Dallas. She especially enjoyed watching her younger brothers play sports, and made sure to attend every game that she could. She loved to shop for clothes to dress up her three nephews and she cared for them as if they were her own. Her dogs, Thunder, Boomer, and Toby, were like family members as well. From the time they were little, until the final moments, Veronica and her sister, Rosa, were inseparable. The bond they shared was truly unique, as well as the unconditional love they held for one another. While Veronica is no longer with us here, her spirit will continue on within our hearts and souls.

Veronica was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jesus Lopez Rizo and Maria Rivas Lozano; and grandma, Maria Guadalupe Hernandez Camarena. She is survived by her grandpa, Felipe Huerta Lopez; parents, Luis and Maria Lopez; sister, Rosa (Lopez) Giffee; brothers, Luis Miguel Lopez, Octavio and Giovanni; nephews, William, Oliver and Christian; many other relatives and friends.
