Swearing in for new NCPD chief

Benjamin Murry was sworn in as the chief of the Nebraska City Police Department (NCPD) during the Sept. 3 Nebraska City City Council meeting. Nebraska City Mayor Bryan Bequette administered the oath of office to Chief Murry, whose wife, Kelly, pinned on his new badge to conclude the ceremony. Murry came to the NCPD in 2002 from Missouri, left the department to serve as the sheriff of Kimball County, then returned to Nebraska City. Murry told the audience he and the officers of the NCPD look forward to continuing to serve the community.
