Susan Marie Wurtele, 71 Wife, Mother, and Friend to many was taken away from us on July 28, 2022. Susie was born October 1, 1950 to Daryl Urwiller and Jackie Urwiller in Grand Island, NE. Graduated from Grand Island High School in 1968, and moved to Lincoln, NE to start a family. Later in life she met her soul mate and moved to Nebraska City where she became an integral part of the Nebraska City community. Susie worked several jobs over her life, from selling real estate, to property management, to working in a flower shop, and eventually volunteering at her church and the local thrift shop. She was a kind soul who loved everyone and was always there if you were in need. She was strong in her faith in Christ. Every interaction Susie had with family, friends, and even strangers made her big heart shine like a candle in a dark room. She is survived by her husband Jerry Wurtele Sr. Ne City, NE, son David Meyers, Athens, TX, daughter Amy Frahm and her husband Rusty, Ashland, NE, step-son’s Jerry Wurtele Jr. and his wife Susan, Plattsmouth, NE, and Jeff Wurtele, Ne City, NE, step-daughter Sheryl Wurtele, Denver, CO, grandchildren Marlea Wurtele, Morgan Wurtele, Trey Frahm, Claire Meyers, Alexa Edmisten, and Cecelia Frahm, and great grand-child Ellie Wurtele and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City.

Visitations will be 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City.

Private family graveside services will be held at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
