With the current environment in mind, the Morton-James Public Library (MJPL) Board approved changing the Library service days to Monday through Friday, closed Saturdays until further notice.
Service hours would remain Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The first Saturday to be closed would be April 18.
In order to adhere to the State’s April 9 Directed Health Measure with stronger emphasis on social distancing for service businesses, the Library will no longer have computers available for the public as of April 10.
There was a potential need when the schools went to remote learning, but computer usage did not increase after school facilities closed.
Copy and printing services have also been stopped.
Library staff will continue circulating Library materials through the South door and lobby area.
This delivery system allows for proper social distancing to take place to protect patrons and Library staff.
Patrons are asked to reserve through the catalog, call or email ahead to let staff know what they would like to check out.Staff is also able to tell you when your materials will be ready for pick up.
The Library has produced a tutorial on reserving items through the Library catalog.
It is available through MJPL’s Facebook and our web page. Information on free resources, in addition to Library electronic materials is available from staff, web page and Facebook page.
