Macey Allgood dropped 14 points on Lincoln Lutheran, as the Lourdes girls’ basketball team improved its record to, 10-2, on the season on Friday, Jan. 11, at the Lourdes Central Catholic gymnasium.
The Knights jumped out early on the Warriors, 12-4, in the first quarter, thanks to a pair of three’s from Brianna Fulton.  Allgood got in the mix with a three pointer and a lay-up to build an eight point lead.
Emma Heng started the second period with a three followed by a Gina McGowen two point lay-in.
McGowen would later find Elaina Madison cutting towards the basket, as Madison scooped the ball in. Libby Baumert rattled off four straight points and the Knights went into halftime with a 31-6 lead.
In the third quarter, Allgood scored a field goal, and on the Knights next possession, Allgood hit a three from the wing.  With four minutes remaining in the third, Madison made hit a two-point basket, as Heng drained her second three of the evening, and the Knights had a 42-17 advantage.
Allgood opened up the fourth with a three.  After McGowen hit a free-throw, Jacey Kreifels would put the Lourdes final points on the board with a three pointer from the wing, and the Knights won, 49-26.
On the defensive side, the Knights did a nice job putting pressure on the Warriors, something Coach Clay Carlton was happy with.
“We brought intensity and were in the right spots a lot of the time,” Carlton said.  “The biggest thing we did was contain the dribble.”
The Knights had seven different girls score, to earn their 10th win on the year.
“The big thing was our effort,” Carlton said.  “The girls really came out to play and I’m really proud of them.”
Brianna Fulton finished the game with eight points; Madison, seven; McGowen and Heng, six; Baumert, five; Kreifels, three.
