The Nebraska City Pioneer girls jumped out to a quick lead and never let off the pedal against the Conestoga Cougars in a, 60-31, win on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Nebraska City.
In the first quarter, the Pioneers scored 25 points, and 11 of those came from Snezana Serafimoska, including a three point basket at the buzzer that ended the first period, giving NC a 25-7 lead.
With the Pioneers leading, 27-13, in the second period, MacKenzie Anthens scored and was fouled on the play.  
After Anthens hit the free-throw, the Pioneers took a 17 point lead, and at half-time led, 36-19.
In the start of the third quarter, Mara Davis who hit a trio of three-pointers in this contest, drained a shot from behind the arc.  After another three from Davis, Selena Balquier hit two free-throws, followed by a steal and lay-in from Abby Balfour.  
In the final period, Madi Mitchell scored five points while Chloe Schaulis closed the game out with a field goal, and the Pioneers picked up their fourth win on the year with a 60-31 victory.
The Pioneers had eight different players score in this contest.  
Serafimoska finished the game with 18 points; Anthens, 11; Davis, nine; Mitchell, seven; Balquier, six; Balfour, five; Alexis Hoover and Schaulis, two each.
The Pioneers (4-9) will be at Gretna (3-7) on Friday, Jan. 11.
