The Lourdes boys basketball game went down to the wire with Pawnee City, but the Knights came up one point short, 45-44 in spite of a 23 point night from Blake Miller.
In the first quarter, Damon Honeysuckle got the Knights on the board with a strong move in the paint for two.  
Lourdes trailed 9-7 with a minute left when Miller hit a two point basket and later knocked down two free throws to tie the game at 11-11 at the end of the first.
Johnny Heng got the Knights on the board with a three point shot from the corner to start the second quarter, and the Knights led 14-11.  Lourdes expanded that lead after baskets from Tanner Kochanowicz and Honeysuckle. The Lourdes’ advantage was seven point, 18-11, and, at halftime, the Knights led 24-22.
In the second half, with the score tied at 24-24, Miller nailed a three point shot.  Pawnee City tied the game later in the third and Colter Fulton made a bounce pass to Max Baumert for a fast break basket.
Drew Walton scored a two point bucket and Miller nailed a three to give Lourdes a 36-29 advantage.
Pawnee City got hot from behind the arch by hitting a trio of threes to take a 45-44 lead.  With one second left the Knights had one more chance, but PC tipped the inbound pass, and Pawnee City got the win.
Miller led with 23 points; Honeysuckle, six; Drew Walton, six; Heng, three; Fulton, two; Kochanowicz, two.
