The Pioneers won in the bottom of the eighth inning with a walk-off single from Ramsee Henderson that scored Taylor Nicolay in a 6-5 win over Conestoga on Monday, September 17.
Down 2-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, MacKenzie Anthens drilled a two-run HR to tie the game.
Conestoga scored three more runs in the sixth and the Pioneers found themselves down by three.
Trailing 5-3 in the bottom of the seventh, and with two outs, Taylor Moyer hit a single to center field. Anthens hit one up the middle to score Moyer and NC was down one run. Elizabeth Hodges singled and Anthens scored on the throw, and the Pioneers tied the game at 5-5.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Sydney Schmitz laid down a bunt to advance Nicolay to third. Henderson came to the plate and hit a walk-off single and the Pioneers won 6-5.

Schmitz earned the win by throwing eight innings. Schmitz surrendered five runs, on 10 hits, while striking out six.
Nebraska City improved to 8-7 overall.

Anthens hit a two-run HR in the seventh to expend the Pioneer lead on September 13.
In the bottom of the first, Hodges hit a single to score Patricia Trice and the Pioneers led 1-0.
Moyer and Anthens hit back-to-back singles to start the third. Moyer scored on a past ball and Abby Balfour hit a hard single up the middle to score Anthens, and NC led 3-0.
Anthens added to the 3-0 lead in the seventh by crushing a two-run HR to center field.
Sydney Schmitz was cruising in the circle, and was throwing a shutout until the seventh inning when the Rockets scored two runs.
Schmitz earned the win by throwing seven innings and allowed two runs, (none earned) on eight hits, while striking out four.
