The Nebraska City Post 8 Seniors were leading 5-3 heading into the bottom of the fifth when NC broke out the bats and scored seven runs to end the game against Louisville, 12-3 on Sunday, June 24, at Clemmy Holmes Field.

Dylan Knoell and Clay Stovall reached base in the bottom half of the first.  Trent Fahey delivered a deep fly ball double and NC led 1-0.  Alex Breazile got himself an RBI sacrifice and the Post 8 seniors had an early 2-0 first inning lead.

Louisville came back in the third by hitting a double to left center field as two runs scored to tie the game.

In the bottom of the third, Garrett Bassinger and Fahey hit singles and Breazile reached on an error.  Jace Becker, who was 2-for-4 with three RBI on the day, hit a line drive single to right field that scored two runs.

Nebraska City was leading 4-3 in the fourth, and with Knoell at third base, Bassinger ripped a double down right field, and NC took a two run lead.

Tyler Levy who made his first debut after an eye injury against Concordia on June 18, drew a walk in the bottom of the fifth.  With two runners on, Stovall drilled a double as Tyler Levy and Zac Albrecht came around to score.  Later in the inning, Breazile hit a bases loaded single that scored two runs and NC led 9-3.  Becker then hit a double to score Fahey, and with the mercy rule in sight, Bryce Levy smacked a two RBI single to end the game 12-3.

Ethan Seyler picked up the win on the hill by allowing two runs, one earned run, on four hits, while striking out one, in three innings.  Jace Becker closed out the game by pitching two innings and allowed one run, on one hit, and struck out three.

The Nebraska City seniors improve to 9-9 on the season.

The juniors held on to win as Max Chaney went 2-for-4 with a double, single, and two RBI.
Hitting: Stovall, single and two doubles, and three runs scored; Albrecht, double, RBI, run scored; Adam Dia, double, RBI.
Pitching: Albrecht got the win for NC by tossing five innings, allowed six hits, one walk, and five runs.  Brayden Betts came in for relief efforts and allowed no hits, in one inning, and added one strikeout.
The juniors are now 5-12 on the year.

Nebraska City juniors and seniors will compete in the SENBC Tournament.  
The juniors will face Tecumseh on Tuesday, June 26, at Tecumseh, beginning at 4 p.m.

Nebraska City Seniors will take on Auburn on Wednesday, June 27, at Auburn, starting at 8 p.m.
