Sharon K. Bates, 75, Nebr. City passed on Fri., Apr. 8, 2022. She was born Sept. 21, 1946

She was born Sept. 21, 1946 in Odell, NE; the daughter of Walter & Hazel Alberta (Poell) Callender.

On June 7, 1975, Sharon was united in marriage to Marshall “Bud” R. Bates.

Sharon worked for some 20 years providing in home daycare to many children. She later began her career at St. Mary’s Hospital where she worked for 25 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Lions Club and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include daughter: Chris Runyon – Nebr. City; 3 step-sons: Marshall Bates -North Bend, OR, Lee Bates (Jenny) – Humboldt, NE & Lem Bates – Nebr. City; 2 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; Devon, Drew, Eric, Jake, Joey & Logan; 1 step-great grandson Andrew; 1 brother & 3 sisters; other family & friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Marshall “Bud” Bates on December 12, 2008 & parents.

Funeral Service is at 2 p.m., Thurs. April 14 – Gude Mortuary, Nebr. City.

Family Visitation from 5 – 7 p.m., Wed. (4/13) at mortuary.
