Customers tell an average of nine people about a positive experience with a brand, but they tell 16 people about a negative experience, according to Forbes.com.
To help keep customers happy and returning to your business, Southeast Community College (SCC) has scheduled a series of customer service workshops in Nebraska City, Auburn, and Falls City, and Chamber members can receive enrollment discounts when they sign up for the classes.
Southeast Community College decided to offer these classes in response to regular requests from local businesses to provide training in customer service skills, said Cindy Meyer, SCC Nebraska City Learning Center coordinator.
Meyer said one of the challenges she faced in providing such training was to find the right instructor who could teach both front-line employees and supervisors. That problem was solved when she met Paul Reiken, owner of Normative Point LLC.
Reiken, who holds a bachelor’s degree in human and social services administration and a master’s in organizational performance, will help front-line employees understand the what, why, and how of outstanding customer service and its importance in business success, and he will also offer ways in which managers can strengthen and improve customer services skills in employees during the hiring and training process.
Rieken wrote the curriculum for the courses, which are new to the SCC course catalog. He can also provide customized instruction for interested companies and organizations.
