Roger Allen Rasmussen, the son of Einer and Clara (Gregersen) Rasmussen, was born January 5, 1940 at the hospital in Audubon, IA. Roger was a great blessing as he came 9 years after his sister, Ruth. Roger went to high school and graduated at Exira, IA High School. He went to college at the College of Agriculture at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. Roger then went into the U.S. Army for 3 years as a Pay Specialist. Before retirement, he worked at First Data Resources in Omaha, NE for 13 years as a Call Specialist.

Roger and Carol Carpenter were united in marriage on September 12, 1965 and were blessed with 3 children, Bob, Micki and Marlys. Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Ruth Olson; and a brother-in-law, Frank Fritz. Survivors include his wife, Carol Rasmussen of Sidney, IA; children, Bob Rasmussen and wife Rhonda Curtis of Mt. Zion, IL, Micki Wichman and her fiancé Damon Stutheit of Nebraska City, NE, and Marlys Nicolosi of Omaha, NE; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Memorial services will be 3:00 PM Friday, June 17, 2022 at the Marshall Funeral Chapel in Sidney, IA with Pastor Leah Elrod of the Sidney United Faith Church officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 PM Friday until service time and afterward until 5:00 PM. Military Rites will by the Williams-Jobe-Gibson American Legion Post #128 of Sidney. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a Church or School of the Donor’s choice. There will be private disposition of the ashes at a later time in the Sidney, IA Cemetery. The Marshall Funeral Chapel in Sidney, IA is in charge of arrangements.
