Ground was broken on Tuesday, Oct. 31, on the Kreifels Hills Subdivision near CHI Health St. Mary’s. Taking part in the event were Amy Allgood, executive director of Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce; Nebraska City City Council members Joe Chaney, Cole Sharp, Ron Osovski, and Patrick Wehling; Nebraska City Construction Facilities Manager Marty Stovall; Nebraska City Utilities General Manager Jeff Kohrs; Nebraska City Mayor Bryan Bequette; Clint and Kim Kreifels, who sold 30 acres to the city and donated 13 more to the development; and Dan Mauk, executive director of the Nebraska City Area Economic Development Corp.
