A team score of 416 placed the Nebraska City boys’ golf team eighth out of 10 varsity squads in home tournament action at the Wildwood Golf Course on Thursday, April 17.
Johnson County Central scored the team championship by posting a score of 333. Syracuse came in second with a 341 and the individual tournament championship. Mason Lintz shot a two-under-par 34 on his final nine holes for an overall score of 77 to lead the Syracuse Rockets.
In other action, the Pioneers played a dual against Syracuse on April 14 and took on both Sidney (Iowa) and Waverly on April 21.
The top seven players for Nebraska City posted 365 compared to 335 for Syracuse.

The Pioneers also sent four players down to a JV tournament at Falls City on Monday with Jayden Odom posting a fourth place 47 and Dane Lyons scoring a fifth place 48. Harper Rutt shot 52 and Colton Crook shot 54. The team shot a 201 and finished second out of seven teams.
