The Nebraska City baseball team (3-5) scored its third win of the 2025 spring season on Monday, March 31, in a 10-0 decision against Highway 75 rival Auburn (4-5).
Nebraska City finished the game with 10 runs on 11 hits and did not commit an error in the contest.
Offensive leaders were Callen Schnitzer, two hits and three RBI; James Fairbanks, two hits and an RBI; and Jesus Martinez, hit and two RBI. Also with hits were Sam Rovetto, hit and RBI; and Carter Hoyle, Grayson Flash, Landon Ferguson, Colton Gillespie, and AJ Rautenbach, each with a hit.
Pitching the win was Landon Ferguson. He struck out six, walked four, and allowed no runs on one hit.
In other action from last week, the Pioneers lost to Wahoo/Bishop Neumann (3-4), 2-1, on April 1, and Malcolm (4-3), 5-1, on April 3.
AJ Rautenbach, Carter Hoyle and Grayson Flash had hits against Wahoo/Bishop Neumann, while Camden Dalinghaus and Grayson Flash split the pitching duties. Dalinghaus pitched four frames, struck out one, walked one and did not allow a run on three hits. Flash worked three frames, struck out one, walked one and allowed two earned runs on four hits.
AJ Rautenbach had two this and Jesus Martinez had one against Malcolm. James Fairbanks and Casen Dalinghaus pitched. Fairbanks worked four innings, struck out two, walked three and allowed four earned runs on three hits. Casen pitched two innings, struck out one, walked two and allowed one earned run on three hits.
Nebraska City’s schedule for the week included home for Seward on April 7 and Omaha Skutt on April 8 and on the road for Waverly on April 10 and Omaha North on April 12.
