Norleen Brown, age 86 of Nebraska City passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn.
Norleen was born on Jan. 11, 1935, Nebraska City; the daughter of Herman H. Vollmann Sr. and Nellie E. (Sumner) Vollmann. She grew up and attended school in Nebraska City, graduating from Nebraska City High School in 1953.
She was united in marriage to Ray Charles Brown on July 29, 1962, in Nebraska City.
He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2005. Norleen worked for many years for the Mercer family cleaning both the hardware store and at the home. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Nebraska City.
She is survived by two sisters: Ruby Vollmann of Auburn, and Mary Ashenfelter and husband Don of Nebraska City; numerous nieces and nephews, other extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Norleen was preceded in death by her dad, Herman, Sr. in 1980, her mom, Nellie in 1993; sisters: Zena Wright, Dolores Wallace and Hazel Vollmann (infant), and brothers: Herman Vollmann and Lester Vollmann.
A Funeral Service was to be held at 2 p.m. on Friday (2/5) at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City. Burial was to follow the services at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
The casket was to lie in state from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday - all at Gude Mortuary.
