Ronald Allen Hazard was born on Sept. 1, 1929, to Thomas and Lillian (Szczypinski) Hazard in Chicago, Ill. He was united in marriage to Joan McClure on Sept. 29, 1950. Ron proudly served in the US Air Force. After graduating from UNL he worked for the Nebraska Dept of Roads until he started his own civil engineering and survey corporation. During his lifetime he worked for many municipalities in SE Nebraska as a City or County Engineer. He was involved with many little theatres and sang in church choirs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Joan; daughter, Marianne Thomas; and grandson, Travis Henry.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Maureen (Michael) Henry of Thompson Iowa; 6 grandchildren, Christine (Tom) Von Dorn of Papillion, David Simmons (Ashley Potter) of Silver City, Iowa, Jamie (Becky) Thomas of Persia Iowa, Laura Thomas (Jimi Sode) of Kansas City Mo., Zach Henry of Valentine, and Keirstan (Ben) Welch of Chanute Kan.; 7 great-grandchildren.
