Thomas Eugene "Tommy" Walters

Thomas Eugene "Tommy" Walters, age 52 of Nebraska City died October 27, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Tommy was born March 26, 1969 in Nebraska City, the son of Stephen and Donna (Rhoades) Walters. He lived in Nebraska City his entire life and graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1987. He was employed by Nebraska City Utilities for over 30 years and was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Southeast Nebraska Missouri River Catfish Club. Tommy was a past member of the Nebraska City Jaycees and Nebraska City Volunteer Fire Department. He was awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership to the Nebraska City Museum of Firefighting for his unwavering support and volunteer work for the museum. Tommy was a proud supporter of his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews at their sporting events. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his siblings, Debbie (Dave) Heng, Steve Walters and Scott Walters; nieces and nephews, Adam Walters, Derek Walters, Tyler Heng, Amber Spidell, Alex Heng, Ceceilia Spidell, Morgan, Logan and Keegan Walters; 17 great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Brandi Walters; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Brenda Walters.

A memorial mass will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.

Visitations will be 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
