Norbert was born October 18, 1946 in Nebraska City, the son of John Robert and Marjorie Elizabeth (Teten) Esser. He married Violet Boomgaarn June 1, 1973 in Nebraska City. Norbert was a devout Catholic and lived in Nebraska City his entire life. He worked as a maintenance electrician. Survivors include his wife, Violet of Nebraska City; sons, Norbert W. Esser and wife Tolly of Nebraska City, Brian Esser and wife Elizabeth of Nebraska City, Gregory Esser of Blue Springs, MO; daughters, Tonya Westhues and husband James of Peculiar, MO, Sarah McManigal and husband Nathan of Plattsmouth and Jessica Collins and husband D.J. of Falls City; 11 grandchildren; siblings, Jan, Parris Jordan, and Kevin; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Randy and Sandy.

No viewing or visitations will be held, and private family services will be held at a later date.
