Janice L. “Jan” Neeman,  74, of Nebraska City, passed away early Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, at the Ambassador in Nebraska City.   She had resided at the Ambassador since 1999.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1945, in Nebraska City; the daughter of Walter L. “Pete” and Hazel Lorraine (Dilley) Weddle.
She attended school at Lourdes Central Catholic, graduating with the Class of 1964.
She then went on to attend Southeast Community College where she enrolled in the Secretarial/Nursing Program.
She worked for the Nebraska City Parks and Recreation Department and was a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Tracy Herndon of Olathe, Kan., and three grandchildren:  Cody, Cade and Caylor;  siblings:  Mike Weddle of Lincoln, Jerry (Mary) Weddle of Zellwood, Fla., Bob (Jody) Weddle of Nebraska City, Chris (Deb) Weddle of Nebraska City; step-siblings:  Roxy Hansen of Nebraska City, Rick (Cindy) Hansen of Nebraska City, Ron (John) Hansen of Omaha, and Renee (Rick) Farley of Lincoln; numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Walter “Pete” Weddle, Hazel Weddle, step-mother Lois Weddle, daughter Lori Michelle Kersten on Feb. 18, 1974 and a sister Kay Mather.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Nebraska City.
The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 2) at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.
