Dona Watermeier, 88, of Lincoln, passed away Sept. 25, 2019.  
Dona was born on March 3, 1931, in Otoe, to William and Lena (Hillman) Knickman.  
She grew up in the Unadilla and Syracuse area and graduated from Peru State College.  
She taught school in Nebraska for many years.
She married Dale Watermeier on April 21, 1950, and to this union they had three daughters, Kristy, Kerry and Kandy.  They were happily married for 50 years.
Later, when Dale became a minister, they moved several times in Nebraska and Oklahoma before retiring to Lincoln in 1986.  
She has been a very active member of First Lutheran Church, loved to play cards and worked for the election board.
Dona is survived by her three daughters: Kristy Grier (Jeff Anderson), Kerry (husband Dennis) Bohlken and Kandy (husband Curt) Denker, all of Lincoln; grandchildren: Joel (wife Lisa) Wheeler, Jeffrey (wife Tiffany) Hale, Erica (husband Joey) Stenger, Megan (husband Blake) Johnson, Tyler (wife Cortney) Denker; 13 great-grandchildren; Brothers: Ken (wife Carol) Knickman and Bill (wife Jan) Knickman; sisters-in-law Ruth Windhorst and Lois Watermeir; brother-in-law Junior (wife Marlene) Watermeier, nieces and nephews and many friends.   
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, grandson and wife Justin and Jessica Dorn, son-in-law Jim Grier, brothers-in-law Orville Windhorst, Joy (wife Rolleen) Watermeier and brother-in-law Gene Watermeier.
The funeral service was to be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, at First Lutheran Church, 1551 South 70th, Lincoln.  
Burial was to be at Lincoln Memorial Park.
Visitation was to be on Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the family present from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Butherus Maser and Love funeral home, 4040 A St, Lincoln.
