She was born Nov. 11, 1955, in Nebraska City, to Sterling and June (Frans) Ross.
On June 30, 1972, Marcia was united in marriage to Gary Ehmke at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Otoe.
To this union three children were born, Scott, Stacey and Sheryl.
They started their life together in Nebraska City and in 1980 moved their family to Syracuse where she lived the remainder of her life.
Marcia attended school in Nehawka.
She graduated from Nebraska City Beauty School in 1974.
She worked as a beautician in Nebraska City and then later at Joy’s Barber Shop in Syracuse for several years.
She was later employed for 25 years as a quality inspector for Wheaton Tubing Products, later known as Alcan Pharmaceuticals.
Marcia dedicated much of her life to serving the community of Syracuse on the Syracuse Rescue Squad.  She was an EMT on the squad for over 27 years, retiring from her post in 2008.
Upon her retirement, she was very proud to be elected as a honorary member of the squad.
Marcia had the most infectious smile.
Her laughter was best characterized as contagious.  And of course you couldn’t walk by her without getting one of her famous “Hi Honey” greetings.
Marcia enjoyed camping and fishing with her family and friends.  She loved all animals, especially puppies.  Most of all Marcia loved doting on and spending time with her husband, children and most of all her grandchildren.
