Richard Lee Kosako, age 91, of Nebraska City passed away on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln.
 Richard Lee, better known as Lee was born on April 4, 1926, in Inwood, N.Y.; the son of Stephen and Johanna (Chevitz) Kosako. 
He attended school in New York and then after graduation entered the United States Navy on Aug. 23, 1944. 
He served his country during WWII and was honorably discharged on March 21, 1946.
 He worked at AT&T as a Technician for 18 years before retiring.  Lee was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Nebraska City.
He also belonged to St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City.
Lee is survived by his daughters:  Katherine Yost of Nebraska City, and Christine Thorne of Grovetown, Texas; five grandchildren:  Brian Thorne and wife Pam; Kim Bentley and husband Steven; Cody Wells and Kelli Yost; four great-grandchildren:  Trevor Thorne, Logan Bentley, Reagan Bentley and Marshall Wells; one brother Arthur E. Kaye of Virginia; other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son Stephen Kosako in 1991, his parents, and siblings:  Stanley, Lillian and Eleanor.
 Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Fr. Mark Cyza officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Benedict’s Cemetery in Nebraska City.

 The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday (10/20) at the mortuary.
