The Nebraska City Community Foundation Fund and the Nebraska City Creative District presented two performances of “Not Too Far Distant,” a play by Becky Boesen that is based on letters Staff Sgt. Clarence Williams wrote home to his wife Gretchen while he was overseas during World War II. The play was presented to students from Lourdes Central Catholic and Nebraska City Middle School on Friday, Nov. 22, as a matinee, and the community was invited to attend the evening performance of the play free of charge. “Not Too Far Distant” was originally commissioned by the Nebraska State Historical Society and produced by Blixt Arts Lab.
