Nevada Golden K Kiwanis

The Nevada Golden Kiwanis met Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Indian Creek Independent and Assisted Living. Vice-president Paul Hunter opened the meeting by asking Darrell Staley to give the invocation. The 16 members present were treated to coffee, fruit and delicious rolls and donuts.

Paul introduced Luann Williams who told us many details of the facilities and the services provided to the residents. The facility is currently at full capacity with a waiting list. There are 18 units, 4 two bedroom and 14 one bedroom. Some of the services provided include breakfast and lunch daily, exercise four mornings a week, laundry, transportation to church, shopping and appointments, TV, physical and occupational therapy and Bible study. Emergency pendants are provided in case of falls or other issues. Residents bring their own furniture, which can include a lift chair. Friends and relatives are encouraged to visit including at meal time. The facilities are secure for the residents at all times. Skilled care is also available at Rolling Green.

Following the informational meeting, we were given a tour of the facilities and found them impressive. Nevada is fortunate to have a facility of this quality.
