When Nebraska City schools start later this week, school staff will have enhanced communications abilities to help keep students safe.
The Nebraska City School Safety Committee has purchased and installed a new digital trunked radio system that will enhance communication between Nebraska City Public Schools, Lourdes Central Catholic, the Nebraska Center for the Education of Children who are Blind or Visually Impaired, Region V Services, ESU 4, and public safety agencies.
The new equipment will allow the schools to communicate internally for daily activities and events, as well as in emergency situations.
Purchase and installation of the new  equipment was made possible with the help of the Wirth Foundation, whose mission is “to positively impact the community of Nebraska City by supporting work in the areas of health, education, the welfare of children, and other special interest community projects.”
