The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) will hold a public information open house regarding proposed improvements of Nebraska Highway 50 (N-50) in Johnson County.  The meeting will be held at Tecumseh Fire Hall, 1110 Buffalo Drive, in Tecumseh, on Feb. 21, 5‑7 p.m.

The proposed project would replace or resurface approximately 5.82 miles of Nebraska Highway 50 (N‑50) located in Johnson County.  The project would begin approximately 0.34 miles north of the south corporate limits of Tecumseh at mile marker (MM) 32.06, and extend approximately 5.82 miles north to MM 37.88, 2 miles north of the junction of N-50 and Nebraska Highway 41 (N-41).

Construction could begin as early as spring of 2021 and be complete by winter of 2021.  The project would be constructed under traffic with lane closures controlled with approved temporary traffic control.  Access for local traffic would be maintained, but may be limited at times due to phasing requirements.  Additional project information will be provided at the public meeting.

Personnel from NDOT will be present to answer questions and receive comments.  Information regarding the proposed project will be made available on the NDOT website at www.dot.nebraska.gov/projects/future-projects/ by clicking on the “Tecumseh North” link.
