Nebraska City Tourism & Commerce, in conjunction with Arbor City Theatre, is excited to present Love Letters by A.R. Gurney on February 8, 9, and 10.
Love Letters, held in the Kimmel Gallery of the Morton-James Public Library in Nebraska City (923 1st Corso), is a public introduction of a new local production company, Arbor City Thea- tre. Founded by Nebraska City residents Jon and Donna Kruse, Arbor City Theatre aims to bring entertainment to Otoe County on a regular basis, beginning with Love Letters.
The play tells the story of a lifelong friendship in a series of exchanged letters, notes, and postcards, read aloud by two actors sitting side-by-side on stage. For this production of Love Let- ters, the characters will be portrayed by Kevin and Betty Colbert of Weeping Water. Both Col- berts have ties to the Lofte Community Theatre in Manley; Kevin is the Artistic Director and Betty is the Music Director.
“They are each incredibly talented actors,” said Arbor City Theatre’s Jon R. Kruse. Kruse, who is directing Love Letters, describes the play as humorous and thought-provoking.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, February 8 and 9, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 10. A reception will be held thirty minutes prior to each performance and des- serts will be served at intermission.
