"Spot, Stop and Avoid Identity Theft" will be the topic of an online seminar from Iowa State University Extension on Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 8 to 9 p.m.
Sandra McKinnon, human sciences specialist in family finance, will present the seminar, which will help participants recognize and avoid identity theft.
Participants will need a computer (desktop or laptop recommended), a strong and reliable Internet connection, Flash player, Adobe reader and a printer (to print handouts, if desired).
During the seminar, participants will be given a link to a diagnostic test that finds whether important software is missing from their computers.
Online access will be available at the Extension Office for those who do not have home Internet connections.
Registration is $10. Deadline to register is Friday, Jan. 18. Call 712-374-2351 to register or stop by the office at 610 Clay St. Sidney.
