“Campfire Christmas in July” and “Jingle Bell Junk & Craft Market” at Indian Cave State Park on July 27 & 28
Indian Cave State Park offers the ultimate mid-summer camping event – a Christmas in July themed weekend.  Events will run from 7 p.m.-10p.m. on Friday and noon-10 p.m. on Saturday.
The holiday season goes by much too quickly for most people.  But families who come to Indian Cave State Park on July 27 & 28 will have another chance to celebrate the holidays with the fifth annual “Campfire Christmas in July”.
Scheduled events are a snow ball toss, toilet seat horseshoes, make and take Christmas sno-globes, kid’s pony rides and Polar Express trolley rides.  And of course, what Christmas celebration would be complete without a visit from Santa Claus?
Kids can visit with Santa and make their early Christmas wishes known.  Santa will not be wearing his winter outfit, but he will be wearing his summer suit complete with flip flops, the perfect opportunity to capture that special photo for your Christmas cards.
Campers will be decorating their campsites trying to win the decorating contest and the chance to win some free camping.
The Jingle Bell Junk and Craft Market will have vendors selling a variety of good junk, jellies, horseshoe art, jewelry, hair bows, as well as repurposed items.  This is a great opportunity to start early on getting the perfect gift for your family and friends.
Kids can have fun in the bounce house and going down the water slide.  A team competition for the ‘Yule Log Quest’ will be the final game of the day on Saturday, followed by delicious tin roof sundaes.   Winners of all the games will be awarded prizes and there is no entry fee.
New this year will be a Friday evening of magical fun at the pajama party watching the outdoor movie “Polar Express” and enjoying popcorn and pop.  Lighted trolley rides will be going to the North Pole from 8pm-10pm and then again on Saturday evening.
If you get too hot you can cool off at the cooling station or nibble on a Tropical Shaved Ice.  Arley’s Food Truck will be serving their delicious brisket burgers and cold drinks.
A half-price youth permit drawing will be held with the winner announced at the conclusion of the day.  A Nebraska park entry permit is required.
