On Friday, Governor Pete Ricketts and the Nebraska Department of Transportation hosted an event on the northwest corner of Arbor Crossing. The event was meant to highlight the signing of LB 1009, which is geared at streamlining and right-sizing speed limits across Nebraska. LB 1009 was introduced by State Senator John Murante of Gretna.
In addition to celebrating the passage of LB1009, Governor Ricketts also noted the recent completion of the overpass at the south interchange of Highways 2 and 75 at Nebraska City.
Present for the event with Governor Ricketts were, Senator Murante, Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) Director Kyle Schneweis, and Nebraska City Mayor Bryan Bequette along with State Senator Robert Clements. District 2; and State Senator Dan Watermeier, District 1. Members of the Nebraska City City Council, the Otoe County Board of Commissioners and the Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce were also on hand.
