Students are getting ready to return to school to start the 2025-2026 year at Lourdes Central Catholic and Nebraska City Public schools.
Lourdes students in grades 6 to 12 can pick up their fall schedules tomorrow (Aug. 6) from 9 a.m. to noon in the Main Campus Library.
Lourdes will host a Family Open House and Back to School Bash on Tuesday, Aug. 12. Preschool to fifth-grade students will participate in a back-to-school presentation and classroom open houses at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Back to School Bash at 6:30 p.m. on the Lourdes main campus. The evening will conclude with a pep rally and a prayer service in The Grotto.
On Wednesday Aug. 13, Lourdes sixth- and ninth-grade students will report to the McCabe Activity Center from 9 a.m. to noon for orientation. The event will include opportunities for students to walk through their schedules, meet their teachers and classmates, and participate in mini break-out sessions and activities.
Classes begin for all Lourdes students on Thursday, Aug. 14.
Nebraska City Public Schools students will be able to attend Back to School Open Houses on Monday, Aug. 11. Open Houses will take place at Northside Elementary and Nebraska City Middle schools from 5:30 to 7 p.m., while Hayward Elementary and Nebraska City High schools Open Houses will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 12, will be the first day of classes for NCPS kindergarten, third, sixth, and ninth grades, with an early dismissal at 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday Aug. 13, will be the first day of school for the remainder of the NCPS student body, with dismissal again scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
NCPS Preschool will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
