The staff at the Nebraska City H&R Block office recently donated items to the Pioneer Pantry at Nebraska City Middle School. The staff hosted rummage sales at Arbor Day, the City-wide Garage Sales, and Sidewalk Sale Days and raised $2,700. It is the third year that H&R Block in Nebraska City has donated to the Middle School’s pantry program. The NCMS Pioneer Pantry began several years ago, providing supplemental food for students over weekends and during school breaks. It expanded recently to include personal care items and even gym clothes. Nebraska City dentists assisted in this year’s efforts by providing toothbrushes and toothpaste for students. Both Nicole Wigington of H&R Block and Katie Meredith, NCMS counselor, expressed their appreciation to the community for stepping up to help support this program.
