Judith (Schroeter) Schwab

Judith, Judy, (Schroeter) Schwab was born July 13, 1944 and passed from this life on April 16, 2022. She was the daughter of Otto & Dorothy Schroeter. Judy was their first-born child. She was perfect at her birth order position as she was always happy, quick to please and very loving.

Her elementary school years were spent primarily in Lutheran Parochial school. She joined 4-H at first opportunity where she thrived with exhibits and demonstrations at the Madison County Fair, always going on to compete at the Nebraska State Fair. Judy graduated from High School at Madison, Nebraska… going on to college she majored in Home Economics at the University of Nebraska for both undergraduate and graduate degrees. She started her career in Home Extension at Caro, Michigan. She returned to Nebraska where she completed her career as the Otoe County Home Extension Agent.

Judy has been very active in American Legion Auxiliary Post #100 in Syracuse, holding local and State offices. She was also active in professional organizations with the University of Nebraska Extension Service and various other organizations. Her church and faith have always been in the forefront.

Judy traveled the world and even lived in Iran for almost a year. She had a thirst for knowledge, most often fulfilled by her love of reading. She kept a running record of every book she read. Another interest was her love of flowers and flower arranging. She loved to cook and plated her meals with a flourish of beauty.

While living and working in Syracuse, Nebraska she met and married James Schwab. In recent years they moved to Nebraska City where Judy resided until her passing.

Judy innately knew how to enjoy life and nature. She took time to stop to visit, stop to enjoy nature and just take time. Time flies by and Judy took that flight in a First-Class seat.

Judy passed through this life preceded in death by her parents and husband. Left to mourn Judy’s passing are her son Pasha Ghorashy & wife Rene, stepchildren Marty Schwab and wife Patty, Teri Nincehelser & husband Rodney, and Lori Taylor & late husband Dave along with her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also, mourning is her sister and best friend Jan Madsen & husband Bruce, brother Robert Schroeter & wife Sally and nieces and nephews. Judy’s entire family will always carry her with them in their fondest of memories.
