Ila Jean Gray

Ila Jean Gray, age 86 of Nebraska City died July 11, 2022 at The Ambassador Care Center in Nebraska City. Ila was born April 1, 1936 in Sidney, IA, the daughter of Charlie W. and Della Elizabeth (White) Smith. She married Denzil Gray March 22, 1978 in Ozark, MO. Denzil died April 27, 2004 in Nebraska City. Ila formerly lived in Ozark before moving to Nebraska City. She managed Days Inn and worked at Alco before her retirement. Ila was a member of the First Baptist Church and loved flowers and angels. She enjoyed spending time with children, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Barbara (Robert) Housh of Nebraska City, Thomas (Betty) Barnett of Auburn, Teresa (Brad) Kendall-McFarland of Braddyville, IA; Gayle (Lon) Lefeber of Lincoln; grandchildren, Alexandra (Bret) Meyers, Allison (Dalton) Sederburg, Kathy Neemann, Michael Neemann, Carissa Cushman, Pam (Jason) Moyer, Jeff (Amanda) Evans, Derek (Katie) Kendall, Stephanie Gallaher-Main and Ryan Main; great grandchildren, Cailyn Meyers, Parker Meyers, Jax Meyers, Brex Meyers, Robbie Evans, Tori Kendall, Reagan Kendall, Adam Brion, Coby Neemann, Jayden Cushman, Gabby Cushman, Bridget Cushman, Emma Sederburg, Grace Sederburg and Zoey Sederburg; sisters, Darlene Wampler of Nebraska City and Evelyn (Jim) Whipple of Clarinda, IA; sister in law, Dora Smith of Northboro, IA; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Russell, Donald, Grant, Kenneth and Wendall.

Graveside Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Grandview Cemetery near Sidney, IA.

Visitations will be 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
