Fresh off its 28-21 win over Northwestern, the bowl-eligible Nebraska Cornhusker football team turns its attention to USC for a 6:30 p.m. NBC kick in a Blackout at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on Saturday, Nov. 1.

The Cornhuskers bounced back from a deflating loss against Minnesota by topping Northwestern in a battle of teams looking for a sixth and bowl securing win.

Nebraska is now 6-2 on the season and will face a Trojan team that’s 5-2 on the year and is coming off a bye week after having lost to Notre Dame, 34-24, on Oct. 18.

USC defeated Michigan, 31-13, on Oct. 11.

Nebraska’s losses this year came against Minnesota and Michigan with the loss to the Wolverines being by just three points.

Saturday’s clash is a pivotal point for Nebraska in year three of the Matt Rhule era as it could put Nebraska on a track for a two-loss record and consideration for the 12-team college football playoff.

Nebraska posted a 5-7 record in year one and a 7-6 record in year two with Coach Rhule. In previous stops at Temple and Baylor, Coach Rhule’s teams have made a big jump in year three.
