Gilbert M. Earl, 74, Nebr. City passed on Sept. 19, 2022 at Prestige Care Center in Nebr. City.

He was born March 6, 1948 to Cordy Joe and Fannie May (Fleming) Earl.  

He worked as a mechanic and operated the wrecker at the former Rowe Motor Company in Nebraska City.  He also drove truck for Wynne Trucking and was self-employed for many years hauling scrap metal as well as operating L&G Lawn Care and Snow Removal.

Gilbert is survived by significant other and soul mate Lisa Hutchins of Nebr. City; children:  Julie Behrends (Kenneth) of Beatrice, NE, Gary Earl, LeRoy Earl both of Nebr. City, Sandy Bassler (Doug) of Springdale, AR, Bobby Earl of Plattsmouth, NE, Leslie DeMar (Eric) of Bennington, NE and Travis Hutchins (Jodi) of Nebr. City; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister Betsy Burge (Lelan) of Hamburg, IA; other family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City with Pastor Terry Weible officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverton Cemetery in Riverton, IA.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday (9/21) at the mortuary.
