Steinhart Park will be prime territory for egg hunters tomorrow (Saturday, April 19) with two Easter egg hunts planned within the park.
The Nebraska City Jaycees will be hosting their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19th at 11 a.m. at the Steinhart Park Ball Fields.
The hunt, for children up to age 9, will include over 4,000 eggs and many special prizes for all ages.
To help the community, participants are asked, but not required, to bring at least one item for donation to the Nebraska City Food Pantry.
The Nebraska City Recreation Department will host its Hoppin’ Good Time Egg Hunt on the Central Avenue side of the park near the tennis courts at 1 p.m.
This hunt will feature two rounds. In the first, each participant may pick up 5 eggs, then return to the starting line. In the second, participants will be able to collect as many eggs as they can.
Special prize eggs will be included in the mix. Participants are encouraged to arrive early or on time as this event usually concludes quickly after the 1 p.m. start.
Also on the weekend schedule is Easter Traditions at Arbor Lodge, where guests can discover the history of Easter traditions, enjoy fresh blooms, learn about spring planting on the Morton Farm, and view a vintage Easter postcard display. Admission to Arbor Lodge Mansion, located at 2600 Arbor Ave., is free to residents of the 68410 zip code.
