The 2024 Downtown Summer Movie Series concludes this Saturday, July 27. The free series features family-friendly movies shown outdoors in the Sunken Parking Lot on Central Avenue Saturday nights at dusk in the summertime.

The last movie of the season is Trolls Band Together. It is sponsored by Nebraska City Nutrition.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to the Downtown Summer Movie Series. Snacks are provided for a small fee. Activities organized by weekly sponsors typically start at 8:30 p.m.

NCTC Executive Director Amy Allgood said she was pleased with the turnout all season long.

“We had some great crowds this year,” Allgood said. “This is one of my favorite events that we can offer to our locals and it’s so great to see so many of them come out week after week.”

NCTC did note that this was the first year that more than one movie got rained out.

“Don’t worry,” Allgood said. “We’re going to keep the rights to show those movies next summer.”

The Downtown Summer Movie Series 2024 was underwritten by the Steinhart Foundation and United Way of Nebraska City.
