NCHS Prom Royalty 2025
Isaiah Aldana and Isabelle Johnson were crowned Prom King and Prom Queen at Nebraska City High School on Saturday, April 12. Following a dance at the high school, about 100 students traveled to Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park in Lincoln for after-prom. NCHS Alumni Foundation announces 2025 scholarships and grants
The Nebraska City High School Alumni Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of the 2025 Scholarships/Grants. The Foundation is able to give out $54,000 in scholarships and grants due to our gracious donors.

2025 Prestigious Tree Selected
Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce has selected a gingko tree reportedly given as a housewarming gift by J. Sterling Morton in the 1880s as the 2025 Arbor Day Prestigious Tree. Ricardo and Lacey J. Garcia and their daughter, Iris, now own the home at 1414 2nd Ave. where the tree has been living in the front yard for almost 140 years. CHI Health St. Mary’s recently added a new $305,000 endoscopy system to their surgical services. The most advanced imaging technologies to date, the Olympus EVIS X1 helps improve the way gastrointestinal disorders, including colorectal cancer, are detected and treated.

Easter event draws big crowd in Nehawka
The population of Nehawka nearly tripled to 500 Sunday when 150 kids from babies to high school seniors gathered to collect 2400 Easter eggs in four age-bracketed hunts hosted by the Nehawka United Methodist Church.
