The Peru State men’s and women’s cross country team competed in the Bearcat Open hosted by Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Mo., on Friday, September 2. Both the men’s and women’s teams finished in fourth in their respective races.
On Monday, Sept. 5, Bobcat defensive lineman Devin Adams was named the Heart Football Defensive Player of the Week after his masterful performance over the weekend. Peru State defeated No. 18 Central Methodist 24-0 in its home opener.
Nebraska City dominated tennis action against Omaha Roncalli on Tuesday at Steinhart Park. A 9-0 shut out pushes the Pioneer’s dual mark to 6-3 on the season. The Pioneer team relied on its six seniors to score eight of the team’s wins. Anthony Robinson and Connor Causgrove maintained their unbeaten record at No. 1 doubles. After the results of Tuesday, Causgrove has an overall record of 9-1 when combining singles and doubles results.
The Peru State athletic department recently announced that linebacker Kile Bentley (Cairo) of the football team and setter Allie Schneider (Humphrey) of the volleyball team were named August Bobcat Athletes of the Month.
