Nebraska City picked up a home dual win over Elkhorn in tennis action on the Steinhart Park courts on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
New dug out wraps at the Nebraska City Softball Complex add another touch to an already impressive facility. The wrap was recently added to the home dug out. Funds for the purchase of the wraps come for the Nebraska City High School Athletic Booster Club and from fundraising activities by the Nebraska City Softball Association.
Recent volleyball action saw Nebraska City competed in a home duel with Seward on Sept. 8 before hosting a triangular on Tuesday, Sept.
Beatrice broke a 5-5 tie with late game runs and picked up a 9-5 win over the Nebraska City softball team on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
On Thursday, September 8, and Friday, September 9, the Peru State women’s golf team finished in fourth at the Peru State invite at the Golf Club at Table Creek in Nebraska City. The Bobcats as a team shot +218 as they shot 397 in round one and 389 in round two.
Anthony Robinson won 8-4 at the top of the singles card and combined with Connor Causgrove for an 8-1 win at the top of the doubles card, but Waverly emerged with the dual win at Steinhart Park on Monday, Sept. 12.
Some bad breaks put the Nebraska City football team in an unfortunate position on Sept. 9 at Platteview as the homestanding Trojans jumped to an early lead and went on for a 48-13 win.
On Saturday, September 10, the Peru State football team was defeated by Benedictine 31-7. The Bobcats are now 1-2 overall on the season and 0-0 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play, while the Ravens are now 2-1 overall and 0-0 as well in the Heart.
Friday, September 9, the Peru State volleyball team was swept by Evangel. The Bobcats are now 3-6 overall and 1-1 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play, while the Valor are now 6-7 overall and 1-1 in the Heart.
