Nebraska City earned a split of a volleyball triangular on Sept. 15 with a win against Auburn and a set back against Falls City to move the team’s season record to 5-5.
The Peru State athletic department recently announced the hiring of Renita “Toni” Closner to head the Bobcat softball program. Last season the Bobcats went 15-32 overall and 10-26 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play.

The Nebraska City girls’ golf team posted a third-place finish with a score of 438 on Monday at the program’s home invitational on the Wildwood Golf Course. Ella Welsh was the top individual for the Pioneers with a fourth-place score of 93.
On Monday, Sept. 19, the Heart of America Athletic Conference announced their Heart Football Players of the Week. Deiontay Dozier (Cordova, Tenn.) was named Special Teams Player of the Week. The defensive back blocked a field goal and returned it for a touchdown to help Peru State defeat No. 11 Baker 19-14.
