Recent baseball action resulted in the fourth and fifth wins of the Nebraska City High School season as the Pioneers topped Falls City, 8-2, on Friday, April 25, and Crete, 6-1, on April 29. Both of those games were played on the road. Other results for the Pioneers were a 10-1 loss at Elkhorn on May 1 and a 10-7 loss at home against Douglas County West on May 5. The Nebraska City girls’ and boys’ soccer teams wrapped up the 2025 season with home matches on Saturday, May 3. The Pioneer girls’ team fell 1-0 (3-2) to Auburn after an overtime and shoot out in Class B-4 subdistrict action. The Pioneer girls’ team wrapped up a 1-11 season. The Pioneer boys’ team fell 2-1 to Conestoga in Class B-3 subdistrict action. The Pioneers wrapped up a 3-9 season.
