This year’s Nebraska City boys’ reserve basketball team features players. Sophomores are Alex Martinez, Jagar Matson and Riley Penney. Freshmen are Jonny Barrett, Landon Ferguson, Mitchell Hodges, Austin Lewis, Jonathan Pineda, Julio Pro, Jonathan Rico, Edwin Sandoval, Mason VonFeldt and Caleb Walker. “We have a 2-4 record with wins over Elkhorn and Beatrice and loses to Auburn, Waverly, Platteview and Plattsmouth,” said Coach John Hodges. “We have games remaining against Blair, Shenandoah (Iowa), Glenwood (Iowa) and Syracuse. We have a great group of young men who are continuing to get better with each practice.”
Kirt Manion, CherryRoad Media Lourdes Central Catholic is sending 13 students to represent the school at the Class C2 state dance competition on Feb. 17 at Grand Island.

The Pioneer team won the tournament last year.
