Nebraska City split results in action on Tuesday, March 28, against Ralston, and on Thursday, March 30, against Cornerstone Christian. The Pioneer side suffered just two match defeats in a 7-2 dual win on Thursday against Cornerstone Christian.

Noah Carpenter scored the top individual medal and Elmwood-Murdock emerged with the dual win on Tuesday, March 28, at the Grandpa’s Woods golf course at Murdock. The varsity scores saw Palmyra post 177, while Elmwood-Murdock got the win with a 155.
The Nebraska City boys’ soccer team lost matches on Monday, March 27, at Crete, 5-0, and on Thursday, March 30, at Conestoga, 3-0. In girls’ action, the Pioneers fell on Monday, March 27, at Plattsmouth, 3-1, and lost at home on Thursday, March 30, against Conestoga, 7-1.
Scoring chances narrowly missed for the Nebraska City girls’ soccer team in a razor-thin 2-1 set back to Buena Vista on Tuesday, March 21, at Pioneer Field. The Pioneers opened the season on Monday, March 20, with a tough shut out loss to Platteview 10-0, but had a quick turn around with the Buena Vista match.
The Lourdes track and field teams opened the 2023 season on Wednesday, March 22, with the Pioneer Conference indoor meet at Doane University. Looking at the team standings, the Knight girls’ team finished second to Tri County with the Knights posting 78 points and Tri County posting 103.
Nebraska City rallied in the second half, fought through two overtimes, and took Buena Vista to extra shots in a shootout before falling just short, 3-2 (4-3 shootout) at Pioneer Field on Thursday. Buena Vista enjoyed a 1-0 lead at the half and was ahead 2-0 with what seemed like control of the action.
