Trailblazer Conference tournament action had the Pioneers playing a pair of road games with clashes against Wahoo, in the first round on Jan. 28, and Malcolm, in a consolation match up on Jan. 30.

The Lourdes boys’ basketball team competed in a pair of games last week with a home clash against Sterling on Tuesday, Jan. 28, and a road game at Axtell (Kan.) on Friday, Jan. 31.

The Lourdes girls’ and boys’ basketball teams earned a doubleheader sweep of Lewiston on the road on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Five Pioneer grapplers finished with medals led by Noah Boyer at 106 pounds during action at the Plattsmouth boys’ tournament on Saturday, Jan. 25.

A 113-point performance placed the Nebraska City girls’ wrestling team in sixth place out of 19 teams at the Plattsmouth Invite on Friday, Jan. 24.

Back-to-back home wins by the Nebraska City girls’ basketball team against Falls City, on Thursday, Jan. 23, and Auburn, on Friday, Jan. 24, raised the squad’s season record to 7-9.

After a fantastic quarter of scoring offense, the Pioneer defense came alive, and the combination of those factors put the home team in control on the way to a 57-30 win in Nebraska City boys’ basketball action against Falls City on Thursday, Jan. 23.
