Nebraska City handed Ralston just its second loss in seven starts and picked up shut out number three in a 1-0 home decision on Tuesday, March 5. The Pioneers broke a scoreless tie halfway through the second half on a set play from Marco Palacios with Octavio Lopez’s shot finding the back of the net.
Nebraska City improved its boys’ soccer record to spotless 4-0 with an all-out effort in a 3-2 shoot out win over the Conestoga Cougars on the road on Thursday, March 31. Both teams utilized the entire field and had excellent chances on net throughout the game.
After getting a chance to refocus their game, the Nebraska City girls’ soccer team displayed laudable competitive spirit in recent matches against Plattsmouth, at home, and Conestoga on the road. The Pioneers dropped a recent game against Elkhorn but used that game as a point of self-reflection.
Nebraska City tracksters competed at the Platteview Invite on Friday, April 1, with the boys’ team picking up three medals, one of them a second-place finish, and the girls’ team posting three medals, one of them a thirdplace effort.

Nebraska City’s baseball team opened action last week with a pair of wins in topping Auburn, 11-3, on Monday and then grabbing a 7-5 decision over Wahoo/ Bishop Neumann/Lincoln Lutheran on Tuesday with both games being on the road.
