Stairway to Heaven

Acts 20:24 “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.” NIV “Preacher, you’re looking at the best builders in Saint James!” My friend said, as he pointed to a group of men.

Where Did It Go?

with Phyllis Buell It just dawned upon me that we are well into the last quarter of 2022! How in the world did that happen? Oh, yes! Thinking back on the previous nine months and all of the concerns . .

Letter to the Editor:

Thank you to all the local businesses and communities that have supported and continue to support Zayne Osborn’s fight against cancer! When we were first approached about a fundraiser, we were reluctant, but also knew people wanted a way to help. What started out as one fundraiser ended up being multiple fundraisers! We were, and still are, in awe over the generosity of all! Each event was a time for friends, family, and people we didn’t even know to get together for a good cause! They shared words of kindness, support, and prayers! We will never be able to thank you all enough, but please know that Zayne and our family appreciates every act of kindness shown to our family! The amount of support is a true testament to the person Zayne is, and also to the testament of what small communities offer; love and support! We are forever grateful for all of you! Much love, Zayne Osborn and family .

It only took him an hour and a half to split, because a blackjack is an old piece of seasoned oak. Sometimes we think life is just supposed to be as hard and cruel as trying to break through a blackjack. At least it seems like it when we are battling strongholds, habits, or seasoned by one of those mean people that you might think God placed in your life to haunt you.

Property Tax Issues

Deluged with falsehoods, gravely misinformed and underinformed by over three decades of single party dominance (rent seeking, scapegoating, gaslighting, fear mongering and false narratives spewed by Nebraska’s executive branch of state government) attendees at a recent townhall “pink slip” meeting in Syracuse vented their anger toward Otoe counties school leaders and other county officials.

A Weekend To Remember

Just when I had begun to think Nebraska wouldn’t/ couldn’t win a football game - they did! Since my twelfth great grandchild had been baptized on Sunday morning and we spent the day celebrating – I was too tired to last out the Chiefs/Buc’s game. So I asked my computer who won this morning.
